Leroy Sane's stance on Bayern Munich transfer as Man City await official bid

Manchester City believe Leroy Sane will snub Bayern Munich if the German giants step up their interest in the winger by making an official bid.

Sane returned to pre-season training last week and indicated he has no desire to join Bayern, despite the Bundesliga champions trying to lure him away from the Blues.

City have slapped a £100 million valuation on the winger - £30 million more than Bayern president Uli Hoeness indicated they wanted to pay for the German international.

Pep Guardiola will not stand in the 23-year-old’s way if he wants to leave – and Bayern meet the asking price. However, City chiefs believe Sane wants to stay with the club.

He still has two years left on the £60,000-a-week deal he signed when he arrived from Schalke for £37m three years ago. Now, City are ready to hike his wages towards £150,000-a-week – including bonuses.

Some of Sane's national team mates have had their say on the speculation. Serge Gnabry has encouraged Sane to make the move, while Ilkay Gundogan does not anticipate the winger leaving Manchester.

Sane was on the plane when City’s squad flew out to Shanghai last night to take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy. The feeling at the Etihad is that he will still be at the club when the Bundesliga transfer window closes on September 2.

City kick start their pre-season tournament against fellow Premier League side West Ham United on Wednesday, the tour sees them grace China, Hong Kong and Japan before the end of July.

Guardiola's side return to England ready for the Community Shield clash with Liverpool on Sunday 4th August.
