Leroy Sane Bayern Munich transfer claim made by Robert Lewandowski

It was only a matter of time before another Bayern Munich player spoke out about the club's interest in Leroy Sane.

Club captain Manuel Neuer has already joined the likes of Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, and Niklas Sule in publicly trying to persuade Sane to join Bayern, while club president Uli Hoeness has also expressed the club's interest.

So it is no surprise that striker Robert Lewandowski has joined the calls for Sane to leave Manchester City for the Bundesliga.

But this time, Lewandowski has suggested a move is more certain than his teammates simply trying to persuade Sane to join.

"Bayern's German players are now very much looking forward to Sane's signing, but we have to wait and see what is going on," Lewandowski said.

If Sane was to move to Bayern Munich, he would be filling one gap left by influential duo Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, and Lewandowski said whoever replaces them will fill the void.

"They are legends, of course their departure is sad," he said.

"But Bayern will also sign more and better replacements. I believe that the winger Bayern will sign in the future will be as good as Robben and Ribery.

"In order to have a good performance next season and to overcome Dortmund, I hope that Bayern can do something in the transfer market this summer."
