Leroy Sane and Eric Garcia to start - Man City predicted line up vs Newcastle United

Manchester City could welcome Leroy Sane back into the starting 11 for tonight's FA Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle.

Pep Guardiola revealed the German winger had rejected the offer of a new contract at the Etihad Stadium and would be leaving the club either this summer or next. Sane made his first league appearance of the season during the thrashing of Burnley last week but was an unused substitute in the defeat to Chelsea.

City will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing result against Frank Lampard's men that saw Liverpool confirmed as Premier League champions.

Guardiola was keen to highlight City's domestic dominance in recent years despite their failure to retain the title and can book another trip to Wembley with a win against the Magpies.

Ederson will start in between the sticks with Claudio Bravo suffering from a hamstring injury.

At right-back, Joao Cancelo missed the Chelsea game due to a small injury problem which should see Kyle Walker retain his place. On the opposite side, expect Oleksandr Zinchenko to replace Benjamin Mendy following his costly mistake in mid-week which allowed Christian Pulisic to open the scoring at Stamford Bridge.

Fernandinho is suspended after picking up a late red card meaning Eric Garcia could be recalled to the side following the nasty concussion he suffered against Arsenal. Nicolas Otamendi could partner him in the centre of defence to hand Aymeric Laporte a rest.

Guardiola confirmed that Phil Foden was doubtful after picking up a knock in the Burnley win meaning Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva should start in midfield, but expect the youngster to make an appearance off the bench if he wins a race for fitness.

Sane hasn't started a game for City since the Community Shield win back in August but could be recalled to the side in place of Raheem Sterling on the left. Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus should complete the line up with Sergio Aguero set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery in Barcelona.

Manchester City predicted XI: Ederson; Walker, Garcia, Otamendi, Zinchenko; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Sane, Bernardo, Jesus.
