Leonard Fournette says he’s ready to progress from mistakes of the past

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense has come into organized team activities focused and ready to move on from their abysmal performance of 2018, and tailback Leonard Fournette may be the most focused player of the whole unit.   After having a rough nine-month span in which he had a rough 2018 campaign on the field, got into a contract dispute with the front office off it, and was booked in Duval County’s jail briefly, Fournette says he’s now motivated by the future instead of his incidents of the past.

“It’s a new everything, clean start for a lot of us guys,” Fournette said Friday. “We not focused on the past, the past is the past. Couple things I did this offseason, I admitted to, yeah I was wrong, but we moved on we’re in a good place right now.”

After confirming he spoke with the Jags’ whole front office and is on good terms with them, it appears Fournette knows that improvement is the next step. Offensive coordinator John DeFilippo is one of the staff members who will especially be counting on him as he told the media that Fournette will be a major part of the offense’s success.

Fournette looks to be on the right path as he’s down to 226 pounds and has been putting extra work with quarterback Nick Foles, but fans won’t be convinced into they see him prove it on the field. Simply put, if he can do that and have identical success to his 2017 campaign, the Jags should be in good shape come December with the postseason in their grasp.
