Leonard Fournette ready for Gators vs. LSU game, says he has a bet with Lerentee McCray

The Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints won’t be the only two major teams playing each other from their respective states this week, as the Florida Gators and Louisiana State Tigers will be duking it out on the gridiron, too. The Jags have plenty of players from each program and star running back Leonard Fournette is definitely the biggest trash talker on LSU’s end.

With the big game coming up, it goes without saying Fournette has been letting his Gator teammates know how he feels as he’s expecting LSU to hand Florida their first loss of the season. He initially planned not to bet on the game this week but it appears one teammate got him to do so in defensive end Lerentee McCray, who played for the Gators from 2008 to 2012.

LSU will enter Saturday’s games as the favorites by 13.5 points per BetMGM and the game will be on their turf at Death Valley, so Fournette may be on to something. They have a lot of talent on their team and will be led by Heisman candidate Joe Barrow, who is putting up great numbers and projected to be a first-round pick.

On the flip side, Florida’s defense is one of the toughest in college football allowing just 276.3 yards a game, which is good for eleventh in the nation. That said, maybe they’ll be able to slow down the Tigers’ high powered offense but we’ll have to wait until Saturday night to know the answer.
