TAMPA, Fla. _ The Bucs' offense could be significantly weakened for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin (hamstring) and running back Leonard Fournette (ankle) will not play, potentially increasing the roles of some untested rookies.
If there is good news, it's that receiver Scotty Miller (hip), who leads the Bucs with 167 yards, was limited in practice Friday and has a good chance to play.
"Scotty (Miller) got some practice today. We'll see how he feels tomorrow," coach Bruce Arians said. "Leonard (Fournette) and Chris (Godwin) will both be out for this ballgame but we'll see how Scotty feels tomorrow."
With Godwin and Fournette out, it means some snaps on offense for rookie receiver Tyler Johnson and running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn.
"Rookies now, they've had close to a month," Arians said. "They've seen it, what it's like. So yeah, they should be able to contribute when their number is called.
"I think Ke'Shawn, he'll be in there this week, also. He's more than ready.
Johnson missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury, and Vaughn was late due to being placed in COVID-19 protocol.
Johnson saw his first action last week but failed to catch a pass.
In three games, Fournette has rushed for 123 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown.
Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, who did not finish Sunday's game at Denver due to a hamstring injury, practiced Friday and will play against the Chargers.
