Leonard Fournette, A.J. Bouye to sit in Jags’ regular season finale vs. Colts

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a change in status for two starters on their Week 17 injury report Saturday. Running back Leonard Fournette (illness) was downgraded to doubtful, which means he was believed to have a slim chance to play. However, he eventually came out to reveal that he will miss the game due to having the flu.

Cornerback A.J. Bouye was the other player who had a change in status as he was downgraded to out with a wrist injury.

Fournette’s situation sets rookie tailback Ryquell Armstead up for a grand opportunity as he’ll be starting in his first game. He hasn’t received a lot of opportunities with Fournette as the No. 1 tailback and will enter Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with 25 carries for 75 yards and a receiving touchdown.

As for Bouye, rookie Brandon Watson or Parry Nickerson could play in his spot. Nickerson is the most experienced of the two with two starts in his NFL career, while Watson has yet to register a career start.
