Leonard Floyd earns $1.25M bonus by reaching 10 sacks

Leonard Floyd came into Week 17 with 9.5 sacks on the year, needing a half-sack to reach double-digits for the first time in his career. It’s not only a big milestone for the young pass rusher, but also one that could stuff his pockets.

Floyd’s one-year deal with the Rams included a $1.25 million bonus for reaching 10 sacks. So when he sacked Chris Streveler late in the second quarter, it was easy to understand why he might’ve been extra excited.

The sack gave Floyd 10.5 sacks on the year and another $1.25 million in his wallet. According to Gary Klein of the L.A. Times, Floyd hit every incentive in his contract this season, earning the $10 million base salary and $3.25 million in bonuses.

Michael Brockers also could’ve had a shot at a payday of his own in this one, but he’s out due to COVID-19 protocols. Had he played 65% of the defensive snaps, Brockers would’ve earned $750,000 in an added incentive.

He was sitting at 64.3% coming into Week 17, according to Adam Schefter.
