Leon King eyed for Aston Villa transfer as Rangers star lined up for Steven Gerrard reunion

Aston Villa are considering a move for Rangers kid Leon King amid extensive interest elsewhere in the Premier League.

17-year-old King is highly-rated by Steven Gerrard who called him up to the first-team while in charge at Ibrox.

He's tipped for a big future but is out of contract at the end of the season.

And the Birmingham Mail report that Villa sense an opportunity and want to sign him for as little as £200,000.

Manchester United, Newcastle United and Leicester City are among the clubs to have had a look at King so far.

But it's claimed Villa fancy their chances and want to land him in the summer for a compensation fee.

King has already made his senior Rangers debut and is viewed down south as one of Scottish football's hottest prospects.
