Although Texan native Leon Bridge’s retro soul sound and style was not initially understood on his home soil, (“They see a young man wearing high-waist pants, up to his nipples, and shirt tucked in, and they’re just like... WHA?” he told the Guardian), the 27-year old has garnered global praise for his breakout 2015 album Coming Home.
Inspired by Sam Cookes’ rhythm and blues sound, he created a two-chord wonder album with blues guitar and his southern vocals, and went from washing dishes in a Texan restaurant to debuting at number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
Bridges will play Falls festival in Lorne, Marian Bay and Byron Bay in additional to this sideshow.
