The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar and his partner Dr Matthew Barrett shared a picture of themselves out for a jog in the near-cloudless weather today, ahead of further restrictions for outdoor events being lifted from Monday April 26.
Pictured in their gym gear, the Tanaiste announced the arrival of summer with the caption: "Fab day for a run. Feels like summer."
The Fine Gael politician has been flexing his tech-savy muscles recently after joining the popular new social media app TikTok, and is one of many politicians to follow this trend as a way to engage with younger voters.
However Instagram seems to be his platform of choice for sharing aspects of his personal life as he regularly posts pictures of him and his partner Dr Barrett.
The pair previously shared an intimate picture together with a takeaway, to celebrate the last weekend with the 5km travel limit restrictions in place, earlier this month.
Adding updates to his stories, the Tanaiste also shared the 'Picnic in the Park' picnic that the pair had brought with them on their hike up Killiney Hill yesterday, Saturday April 24.
This social media update comes as further restrictions are set to lift, specifically for outdoor gatherings.
Outdoor sport facilities can reopen, including golf courses and tennis courts, with certain outdoor visitor attractions including zoos and heritage sites, but amusement parks will remain closed until further notice.
Outdoor underage non-contact sports training can start again in pods of up to 15.
Funerals will now be permitted to have 25 people in attendance.
