Leo Varadkar has reduced the number of phases in Ireland's roadmap from five to four.
The Taoiseach said he was fast-tracking the easing of restrictions due to the public's great success in helping combat the virus.
The ban on mass gatherings will remain in place, but Phase Five has been cut, with Phase Four being the final step, starting on July 20.
Mr Varadkar said it has not yet been decided which areas of society will open in phases three and four, but that an announcement will be made in due course.
Under the fast-tracking of the roadmap, pubs that serve food will be allowed to reopen on June 29, while shopping centres can return to business on June 15.
Playgrounds will reopen, while summer camps will be allowed for children in groups no more than 15.
All travel restrictions will be lifted on June 29.
