Four-year-old Leo Klein found some relief from Wednesday's heat staying close to the spray of The Canberra Times Fountain on City Walk.

He was under the watchful eye of mum Sarah who was about to donate blood to the Red Cross' mobile donor van. She regularly donates blood.
"I try to," she said.
The van travels to various locations around the ACT and nearby NSW. The Red Cross tells us the van collects more than 9000 donations of blood each year.
If you'd like to donate some blood before Christmas- it's better to give than receive, after all - the mobile van will be at City Walk on Thursday and Friday and Monday and Tuesday, from 8.15am to 2.45pm.
Ring 13 14 95 to make an appointment but it also allows for drop-in donations.
