Lena Dunham appeared to defend Jordyn Woods against the backlash over her alleged encounter with Tristan Thompson.
Girls creator and actress Dunham told fans that her “heart aches” when she reads the “media attention” on Woods after her dalliance with the NBA star, who was the boyfriend of her best friend Kylie Jenner’s sister Khloe Kardashian.
Dunham told her 5.6million followers about a time she “kissed her friend’s crush” and asked fans to “imagine what public shaming would feel like”.
A fan responded to her telling her that the situation was “very different” to that, prompting Dunham to stick up for Woods all while confirming her love for the Kardashian clan.
“I’m not coming for the K’s! I love and respect them,” the actress wrote.
“It’s just A LOT of media attention on a very young girl’s sexual choices and my heart aches when I see that.”
Woods, 21, has reportedly been exiled from the famous family since the alleged tryst, with Kardashian removing her from her Good American website.
In the immediate aftermath, the price of Woods and Jenner’s make-up collaborations was also slashed.
Woods has yet to comment on the scandal but is expected to break her silence in an interview with Jada Pinkett Smith this Friday.
On Tuesday, Woods teased fans with a clip of her dressed in all black walking into a studio to sit down on Red Table Talk in her first interview since the scandal.
Thompson appeared to address the allegations shortly after it first broke by tweeting “FAKE NEWS” but he swiftly deleted the post and has not spoken since.
Kardashian let a series of emotional Instagram quotes do the talking in the aftermath, one of which referenced “betrayal” while another suggested she had confided in Woods about Thompson allegedly cheating on her when she was heavily pregnant with their daughter True.
