Len Kasper leaving Cubs’ TV booth for White Sox’ radio booth

Len Kasper has been the Cubs’ TV voice for 16 years, the last eight with analyst Jim Deshaies. | Marquee Sports Network

If any of the players remaining from the Cubs’ World Series championship core left the team, it wouldn’t be as stunning as this departure.

Cubs TV voice Len Kasper is leaving to fill the vacant play-by-play spot in the White Sox’ radio booth. Kasper, who has been with the Cubs for 16 years, will join analyst Darrin Jackson on the Sox’ new home, ESPN 1000.

According to NBC Sports Chicago, Fox Sports’ Chris Myers will replace Kasper next to analyst Jim Deshaies in the Cubs’ booth on Marquee Sports Network.

Andy Masur worked with Jackson last season in what amounted to a tryout. Masur replaced longtime Sox voice Ed Farmer, who died April 1.

Kasper’s arrival on the South Side was announced Friday morning on ESPN 1000.
