Lemar set for exit, Chelsea's move for Bundesliga ace - latest European transfer rumours

Just days remain before the January transfer window officially opens for business.

Already there seems as though there is going to be plenty of business conducted across Europe.

With league titles and the Champions League set to be decided in the second half of the season, some of the continent’s top clubs will be looking to strengthen ahead of a crucial period.

With that in mind, here is the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from across Europe.

Bale latest

Gareth Bale could be heading for a return to former club Tottenham Hotspur in reports from Spain are to be believed.

The winger has been linked with an exit from the Santiago Bernabéu for a number of years, and came close to a move to China in the summer.

And now Spanish media outlet El Desmarque are reporting that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is willing to offer Christian Eriksen plus £25.7m to Madrid in order to seal a swap deal in January.

Werner eyed by Chelsea

Frank Lampard is looking to bolster his attacking options at by signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in January.

After an impressive start to the season, the Blues have suffered a dip in form over the last few weeks, with Lampard now reportedly looking to freshen up his squad with new faces in the upcoming window, with Werner, according to the Express , on Lampard’s wish list.

The Germany international, who has been linked with Liverpool and a host of other European clubs, has scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches this season, and his release clause is reported to be £27million.

Lemar set for Atlético exit

Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Lemar is attracting the interest of Olympique Lyonnais after failing to secure regular first team football at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Lemar joined Atlético July 2018 from Monaco for a fee of 70 million euros, with the 24-year-old signing a contract with the club until  2023, but recent reports have suggested that the French international could be set to depart in January.

And now Football Espana are reporting the Ligue 1 side are planning a number of high-profile acquisitions in the upcoming window with Lemar one of them.
