Lejond Cavazos loses his black stripe

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a black stripe alert at Ohio State since we are in the middle of the season, but yes, there are still some out there that still have to “officially” become a part of the Buckeye Brotherhood.

So, we heard from one today, highly-touted defensive back Lejond Cavazos was recognized in a short ceremony today. If you are wondering why it took so long, an undisclosed injury derailed the start of his freshman season in Columbus.

The 6-foot, 1-inch, 196-pound cornerback out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL was considered a four-star prospect and rated as the No. 26 corner in the 2021 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

“I want to thank God and my family and, shout out to BIA (Best in America) — they’re making me a lot better, and Zone6 (the receiver group) also,” Cavazos said. “I wanna say shout out to coach (Kerry) Coombs, appreciate you for bringing me in, and, Go Bucks!”
