Leith residents can pick up free household items and clothes in October

Hundreds of household items and clothes are being given away for free at a special recycling event in Leith next month.

Leith Community Centre is hosting the "Free Stuff" event on The weekend of October 19 and 20.

It's open for everyone to come and take whatever they need, "regardless of income and circumstance."

Recreate Scotland are organising their latest giveaway to encourage "a truly zero waste environment." They held a similar event at Leith Academy in June.

The community centre will be open each day between 11am and 4pm. Adult-sized clothed and clothes for you adults will be available.

Organisers say: "Recreate Scotland and Leith Community Centre have team up to bring this opportunity to the heart of Leith to help avoid tons of quality items going to landfill.

"Come along and take what you need, regardless of income and circumstance."
