Leisure facilities across West Dunbartonshire set to close due to Covid-19 threat

All West Dunbartonshire Leisure facilities, activities and services will be suspended from close of business tomorrow (Friday) until further notice it has been announced.

The closure applies to all leisure and community facilities throughout Dumbarton, the Vale of Leven and Clydebank in an attempt to follow government advice about avoiding social contact.

Members and customers won't be left out of pocked during the closure however, with membership categories frozen and no fees charged, direct debits for swimming and gymnastics automatically frozen and credits and refunds offered upon reopening for sports development classes.

Further to this, regular bookings and lets will be retained, as will prepaid memberships or block booking memberships after facilities reopen.

The decision to call off leisure activities and close centres comes as little surprise, with West Dunbartonshire Council actively following advice for a new total shutdown.

Earlier in the week it was announced that Active Schools clubs and events would be called off, and that news was followed by the closure of schools throughout the country from their final classes on Friday, and the closure of all libraries locally at 4pm yesterday.
