Leinster are likely to receive a bye into the Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals next week after this afternoon's last 16 clash with Toulon was postponed.
The Blues, who last played the French club in 2015 and were hoping to win in a head to head with RCT for the first time, confirmed the news this lunchtime.
The game was due to kick-off at the RDS at 5.30pm but it is believed that a Covid case in the Toulon camp has forced them to withdraw from the fixture following discussions that began with EPCR medical chiefs last night.
The tournament organisers are due to give further details soon, but there is no extra time to play the game as the quarter-finals are scheduled to go ahead next weekend.
During the pool stages if a team was prevented from fulfilling a fixture then the opposition were awarded a 28-0 victory.
It is expected that Leinster will be able to begin preparations this weekend for an away last eight tie against holders Exeter Chiefs or Lyon.
