Leinster and Munster clash in the opening weekend of Rainbow Cup action.
The new competition includes teams from Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy and South Africa and will be played over the coming weeks.
The end-of-season tournament features the 12 PRO14 teams and four South African sides - the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers.
But the South African sides will not play teams from Europe and organisers will press on with 'dual tournaments'.
Munster have now failed to beat their rivals in the last six matches between the sides, with their most recent defeat coming in the PRO14 final.

"It's great to be challenging yourself this regularly against a team like them but we need to win.
"For lots of reasons, we need to win, and that hasn't changed the last three or four times that we've been beaten by them, we've said the same thing.
"So it's just up to us to figure out a way. Again, you're playing a very, very good side, which is great - it's making us better every time.
