"Normally you expect to build into a pre-season game, make some mistakes and build on them. You don't have to hit the ground running as hard.
"Whereas now, we can't afford to make mistakes against Munster or Ulster (the following weekend) or we'll get punished.
"That's why we're trying to learn the lessons from each other in training now that we would from a pre-season game.
"The good thing is we have the blueprint of how we train. Everyone buys in and believes in it. "So it's been quick to get back to normal standards. Hopefully that will stand to us."
