Fergus McFadden won't be eligible to play again until August 26 after being slapped with a six week ban that ends his season.
The Leinster and Ireland winger learned his fate in a discplinary hearing today.
McFadden, 32, was judged to have committed an act of foul play involving contact to the head in Leinster's PRO14 loss to Ulster last weekend and a recommended 10 week ban was reduced to six for previous good behaviour and his remorse.
He will have to sit out his province's Champions Cup final on Sunday week as well as the PRO14 play-offs as Leinster attempt to complete the double-double.
It also lessens his hopes of making an impact in the pre-World Cup warm-up games as he will miss the first two of four against Italy (August 10) and England (August 24).
McFadden, who has the right to appeal the suspension, last played for Ireland in the 2018 Six Nations, making two appearances in the Grand Slam winning campaign.
