Leinster's trip to Montpellier looks increasingly in doubt following news of a fifth positive Covid case in the French club's camp.
Leo Cullen's squad had training cancelled on Monday ahead of Friday night's Champions Cup pool game for a further round of PCR testing, after three senior members of the playing panel testing Covid positive last week along with a staff member.
Meanwhile, Montpellier revealed on Monday that four of their own players had tested positive for the coronavirus in the aftermath of their opening European defeat at Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.
A further positive case among the playing staff has now been revealed, with the Top 14 outfit confirming that the five are isolating while the rest of the squad is preparing to meet Cullen's side, who beat Bath in their pool opener at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday.
Montpellier have admitted that the development “considerably impacts the preparation for the match against Leinster”.
For their part, the province is scheduled to return to training today pending the results of the PCR testing.
