Leinster optimistic over fitness of key men for Ulster clash

Leinster are optimistic that Johnny Sexton, Cian Healy and Josh van der Flier will be available for Saturday's PRO14 encounter with Ulster if selected.

Sexton (thumb), van der Flier (hand) and Healy (arm) all suffered the knocks in last Saturday's two-point victory over Munster at the Aviva Stadium, a result that extended Leinster's winning streak to 22 games.

Dave Kearney suffered a hamstring injury during the second half and will be further assessed this week but is unlikely to feature against Ulster.

Tadhg Furlong wasn't considered for selection last week after picking up a minor back injury, and a decision will be made on the tighthead's involvement later in the week.

As a precaution, Rhys Ruddock was left out with a minor quadriceps issue, and he will also be further assessed before Leo Cullen decides on his availability for next weekend.

Fellow flanker Dan Leavy continues to move closer to his first involvement in 17 months after his serious knee injury as he will step up his involvement in training.

Meanwhile Vakh Abdaladze had a procedure on a long-standing back issue last week and will require further assessment in the coming weeks.
