Leinster injury update as Blues not ruling out trio for Munster PRO14 semi-final

Leinster are not ruling out James Ryan, Dan Leavy and Tadhg Furlong from involvement in Friday's Guinness PRO14 semi-final clash with Munster at the Aviva Stadium.

Ryan is close to a return after shoulder surgery in the summer, while Leavy hasn't played since the Champions Cup quarter-final against Ulster towards the end of last season, which is almost a year and half ago.

Furlong, meanwhile, was ruled out of involvement in the clash with Munster that restarted Irish rugby closing in on two weeks ago and his back issue will be assessed this week ahead of squad selection.

Ryan and Leavy will also be further assessed before Leo Cullen makes a final decision. Good news for Cullen is that Rhys Ruddock had no reaction to a quad injury in last Saturday's win over Ulster and is expected to be available, adding to a massive selection headache facing Cullen in the back row.

Fergus McFadden has also started running again as he rehabs a calf injury and may come into contention in the coming weeks.
