Leinster's short turnaround for their Champions Cup clash in Montpellier has been made tighter following the decision to cancel training today.
After their bonus point victory over Bath on Saturday, the Blues will be back in action in France on Friday night.
But their preparations are on hold in the wake of the four Covid positive tests detected last week - three senior players and one staff member tested positive.
Instead of training today, the players and staff are to undergo a further round of PCR testing today, and Leo Cullen and his backroom team are hoping that training can resume tomorrow.
It is not yet known if skipper Johnny Sexton and no 8 Jack Conan will be available for the trip but it has since been revealed by Montpellier that they have four positive cases of their own to deal with, with two players and two staff members testing positives since their first round loss to Exeter on Saturday.
A Leinster statement read: “Given the positive Covid-19 cases in Leinster Rugby ahead of Saturday’s Heineken Champions Cup game against Bath Rugby, Leinster Rugby will undergo another full round of antigen and PCR testing at its UCD base today.
“As a further precaution, until all results are confirmed, today’s training in UCD has been postponed until tomorrow.
"The IRFU and EPCR have been consulted in advance of this decision which has been taken in the best interests of Leinster Rugby players and staff.”
