Leinster and Munster handed tough Champions Cup assignments to reach the last four

Leinster and Munster have it all to do to reach the last four of the Heineken Champions Cup.

The two Irish provinces have home last 16 ties but face tough French opposition, with Leinster hosting Toulon and Munster hosting Top 14 leaders Toulouse at the start of next month.

If either or both provinces progress they will be on the road in the quarter-finals the following week.

Leinster are on course to travel to defending champions Exeter Chiefs, who are at home to Lyon in their last 16 tie.

And Munster will be away to Wasps or Clermont if they reach the last eight.

In the Challenge Cup, Connacht and Ulster will both be on the road against English opposition in the last 16 of that competition.

Connacht will meet three-time Challenge Cup winners Harlequins, while Ulster will go to Welford Road to take on Leicester Tigers.

If Connacht progress they will have a home tie against Ospreys or Newcastle, while Ulster's reward for victory is an away trip to Dragons or Northampton Saints.
