Leigh Griffiths slams 'pathetic' report after Celtic striker makes social media slip

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths claims he accidentally liked a tweet calling Rangers fans 'dirty orange b*******'.

The Parkhead star was the subject of a report in another newspaper that stated he was at the 'centre of a sectarian storm' after liking the offensive post on Twitter.

Griffiths quickly unliked the tweet with the striker insisting it was a mistake and was only made aware of it when somebody told him.

And the Scotland star has hit out at the publication for reporting on it despite him going back and undoing the error.

He said: "So you press something by mistake then fix it and it still becomes world news. Pathetic.

"Wasn’t event aware of it until someone told me. Sorry for the error."

The tweet poked fun at Rangers after Steven Gerrard's side lost more ground in the title race after their 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.

Celtic stretched their lead at the top of the Premiership to ten points after a thumping 5-0 win over Hearts with Gerrard admitting it's going to be very difficult for the Ibrox side to overturn the current deficit.
