Celtic star Leigh Griffiths has been hailed as one of the country's 'top strikers' after he signed an extended deal at the club.
The frontman extended his stay for another season with Ange Postecoglou delighted to get him on board for the new campaign.
It was believed Griffiths could be on his way out of the club after struggling for game time under Neil Lennon last season and no deal had been announced before his contract expired.
But Celtic confirmed he had signed a new deal today to return to pre-season training and Postecoglou believes he will play a vital part in the new season.
The new look Celtic have their first pre-season game next week before they kick off their European campaign on July 20 against FC Midtjylland.
The Aussie will hope his side can hit the ground running and he believes that Griffiths can fire them to glory.
He told the Celtic website: “I am really pleased to keep Leigh with us for another season at least. I have had very positive conversations with Leigh and he clearly understands my expectations and more importantly the club’s.
“Leigh has already proven himself as one of the top strikers in Scotland and I look forward to working with him so that we can bring success to Celtic Football Club."
