Leigh Griffiths falls victim to Celtic's king prankster as striker leaves Scott Brown in hysterics

The momentum is building at Celtic as we head into the new Premiership campaign.

Neil Lennon and his squad have negotiated two Champions League qualifiers with relative ease and now St Johnstone await at Parkhead on Saturday.

Despite a raft of transfers over the city at Rangers, the Hoops are once again being widely tipped to continue their domestic dominance and clinch nine-in-a-row.

And there's certainly a feel-good factor among the players, if the scenes at Lennoxtown on Friday are anything to go by.

Unfortunately for Leigh Griffiths , however, he found himself on the wrong end of the joke.

It's no secret captain Scott Brown enjoys a prank on the training pitch and the striker appeared to be his target this time around.

It's not clear what exactly had Brown in hysterics, but it had Jonny Hayes buckled nearby as well.

Griffiths looked to be clutching his face, however, and certainly looked a bit sheepish about the whole thing.

Answers on a postcard as to what may have merited him getting pelters from Brown and Hayes.

Meanwhile, the battle for the number one jersey continued with Scott Bain and Craig Gordon being put through their paces ahead of the weekend.

Gordon, having spent the last half-season sitting on the bench, was handed a chance to impress against Nomme Kalju in midweek.

The veteran, though, remained largely a spectator on a comfortable night for the Hoops.

Bain seized his opportunity at the tail end of 2018 and has clung onto the jersey ever since.

But with a new boss in charge and perhaps a clean slate for many, Gordon could yet force his way back into the side.
