Leigh Griffiths Celtic exit talk addressed as Neil Lennon dismisses Vakoun Bayo transfer rumours

Neil Lennon has revealed Leigh Griffiths wants to fight for his place at Celtic.

The striker has been linked with a move away from Parkhead due to his lack of playing time this season and the recent addition of Patryk Klimala.

The 29-year-old had also been sidelined with injuries and personal problems and there was speculation he could go out on loan for the second half of the season in search of regular first team football.

But Lennon has dismissed that the Scotland talisman's future lies elsewhere and insists his no.9 has told him he is raring to go for the second half of the campaign.

He said: "We have Odsonne in and Griff and Griff is looking good.

"He had a good Dubai trip and trained well again this week so maybe not.

"We will see how things go over the next few weeks.

"I can't comment on speculation surrounding any player really.

"There has been a lot in the last few months about Griff.

"But he is hungry and he wants to play and he has made that pretty clear to me."

A report claimed Ivory coast striker Vakoun Bayo has asked to leave Celtic on loan for the second half of the season.

Lennon added: "I have no inclination about that at all.

"Bayo has had a few injuries but he is just coming back from a long-term injury. He is back in training now.

"We are hoping there will be a couple of deals done this week where people either go on loan or go permanently.

"There will be two or three players maybe going to leave."
