John Kennedy expects Leigh Griffiths’ Celtic future to be resolved in the next couple of weeks.
As things stand, Griffiths is out of contract this summer and free to leave Celtic Park. However, the club have an option to extend his deal by a further year.
Hibs and Aberdeen have been linked with a move for the Scotland striker if he does become a free agent.
Kennedy appreciates that players are keen to know where they stand and conversations will take place once the Premiership season is done and dusted.
And the interim boss praised how those players awaiting clarification have handled the situation
He said: "I think this is going to be a conversation because there's been any decision made in terms of the management and everything else that goes with it, this is one we have to get through this week and then obviously the club will have to have a discussion with Leigh.
"There's nothing happening at the moment on that, there's not an update. It's the same with several issues around the playing squad.
"The players have been great in that respect, the guys who are in that situation.
"They've been very professional in their work and they understand the situation's not ideal.
"But they're parking that for the time being, and that's something that will have to be addressed in the next couple of weeks I would imagine, or the next week anyway.
"It's uncertain times. You'd always rather have clarity and know what your next step is.
"But it's a difficult situation we're in, it's one we've not really faced before in terms of the time that has gone by now with the uncertainty that's going on with a lot of situations and a lot of personnel.
"But again we've had to, as best as we can, all park that and try and do the right thing for the club."
