Raging Chris Sutton blasted Leigh Griffiths after Celtic's humiliation at the hands of Sparta Prague, accusing the striker of being overweight.
The 30-year-old earned a Scotland recall this week, and came off the bench to score against the Czechs.
Neil Lennon 's side fell to a 4-1 defeat though and speaking on BT Sport after the match the Record Sport columnist took aim at Griffiths.
A fuming Sutton said: "I'm a huge fan of Leigh Griffiths as a player - I'm not a huge fan of his attitude.
"That's what he can do, he is a brilliant, brilliant finisher.
"But he's overweight, he is out of shape and he can't play for 60 minutes let alone 90 minutes.
"(Tom) Rogic, brilliant awareness. Leigh Griffiths is a front foot player and anticipates so well.
Host Darrell Currie then asked the former Celtic striker whether he believes Griffiths should be starting him.
Sutton responded: "Let's be serious - look at the shape of him!
"He's a professional footballer, he's not picked for a reason. He shouldn't be paid to come off the bench for a little cameo for half an hour.
"He's a brilliant player, I rate him highly, but he needs to get himself fit.
"He's let his manager and his team-mates down with his attitude it's as simple as that.
"Can you see him starting with the shape he's in?
"I'm telling you, he's a brilliant, brilliant striker but attitude's an important thing. Being fit is an important thing.
"Do you think he looks fit?"
Odsonne Edouard put in a disappointing showing and he wasn't spared Sutton's wrath.
He said: "I don't think he's been at his best all season. He's had Covid, he's not the player he was.
"He showed some nice touches at the weekend, didn't happen tonight.
"He was a disappointment but I'm not going to stand here and compare Odsonne Edouard or Leigh Griffiths."
