Leigh Court armed police presence sees man arrested on suspicion of drug supply

A man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug and remains in custody. It comes after armed police were spotted near Leigh Court in Bristol yesterday (August 30).

Emergency services were called to Abbots Leigh at around 11.20am yesterday morning (August 29) due to concerns for the welfare of an injured man. He was found with significant injuries to his head and hand and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Officers then conducted a search of a nearby building and identified a suspected cannabis grow. In a statement yesterday, Avon and Somerset Police stated that it was "too early to speculate whether the two incidents are linked".
