Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals latest TV role three weeks after welcoming twins

By Seamus Duff

Leigh-Anne Pinnock says she is ‘honoured and excited’ to land her first TV job since giving birth – with a judging slot on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

The 29-year-old Little Mix beauty became a first time mother last month – when she welcomed twins with her 30-year-old footballer fiancé Andre Gray, announcing via Instagram that on August 16th: "We asked for a miracle, we were given two... Our Cubbies are here".

And despite giving birth just three weeks ago, Leigh-Anne is too excited to not help spread the news that she will soon be on screens in a TV role.

The singer will be on a panel of judges reviewing the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talents of a string of drag performers on season three of BBC Three’s RuPaul’s Drag Race – due to hit screens later this month.

Leigh-Anne was unveiled as a guest judge on the upcoming season, alongside Spice Girl icon Emma Bunton and Mystique legend Alesha Dixon, via an Instagram update from the official Drag Race UK feed.

Sharing a post of Leigh-Anne looking deep in thought and biting her thumb, the update read: “We have some more #DragRaceUK special guest judge news for you… @leighannepinnock, @emmaleebunton, and @aleshaofficial will be serving special guest judge realness this series.”

Promoting the fact she will be on the madcap talent show, Leigh-Anne declared on Instagram Stories: “Absolute honour, I’m so excited for this.”

The new series is set to begin airing on Thursday September 23rd, although it is not clear which of the twelve episodes Leigh-Anne herself will feature in.

And while Leigh-Anne announced the arrival of her babies last month, it is believed that the third series of Drag Race UK completed filming earlier this year – before the second season finished airing back in March.

Other guest judges expected to appear on the third season are choreographer Jay Revell, comedy star Charity Shop Sue, acting legend Kathy Burke, Little Britain star Matt Lucase, Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, and the pop group Steps.

While Sir Elton John has also been teased as an extra special guest judge for one of the episodes.

On Monday, Leigh-Anne, alongside her Little Mix co-stars Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall sat down with Lorraine for an interview.

The ladies explained they would be taking a short work break as 28-year-old Perrie also became a first-time mum last month as she welcomed a son named Axel with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Little Mix ladies recently shared their plans to press on with work after Leigh-Anne and co-star Perrie Edwards gave birth (JMEnternational for BRIT Awards/)

The interview was completed before the ladies gave birth, but the group hinted they won’t be slowing down as they plan to unleash new music and hit the road.

Perrie explained: “We’ve been planning it, we’re figuring out how to do it.

"I’m just apologising to my mum in advance because she is going to have her hands full… She actually can’t wait! I wouldn’t have it any other way."
