Red card: West Brom down to 10 men ...

Having come on as a substitute, scored a goal and been the game’s stand-out player, Hal Robson-Kanu gets his marching orders for playing fast and loose with his elbow in a tussle with Matthew Lowton. Silly boy. West Brom lead 1-0 but their down to 10 men.

Cardiff back in front at Molineux: With 77 minutes on the clock, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing restores Cardiff City’s lead against Wolves. It’s 2-1 there. Meanwhile at the City Ground, Darryl Murphy has scored from the penalty spot to make it Nottingham Forest 2-0 Middlesbrough.

Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace at Anfield: Daniel Sturridge is replaced by Mohamed Salah in the Liverpool ranks as Jurgen Klopp seeks a breakthrough for his side against Crystal Palace.

Norwich pull a goal back against Aston Villa: Josh Murphy scores for Norwich City to reduce the deficit to one goal at Villa Park.

My colleague Simon Burnton writes: “A comedy moment in Bournemouth v Watford,” he writes. “The Hornets attack, and Amrabat pulls the ball back into the path of Chalobah, who is unmarked and about to have a shot on goal when he hears a shout of ‘leave it!’ and decides to let the ball run for a presumably better-positioned team-mate. When he turns around and sees Harry Arter picking the ball up he’s furious – turns out it was Arter who did the shouting, the cheeky scamp.”

A big goal in the Championship: Joe Ralls puts Cardiff City ahead against Wolves in the battle between the two sides with the 100% records. Elsewhere, Ipswich look likely to extend their winning streak to five after going 2-0 up against Brentford. Joe Garner has doubled their lead at Portman Road.

GOAL! Leicester 2-0 Brighton (Maguire 54)

Goals in League One: Walsall have gone a goal up at Fratton Park, where they lead Portsmouth 1-0 courtesy of a Luke Leahy goal. Elsewhere, Blackburn Rovbers lead Bradford City thanks to Dominic Samuel’s goal after 47 minutes. Peterborough have also taken the lead against Rotherham, with Jack Marriott opening the scoring.

An email from JR in Illinois

“I’m watching Burnley v West Brom,” he says. “It’s terrible. Imagine what you would expect the game to be like then imagine it being even worse. Pulis has the Baggies in mega route one time-wasting hoof mode. I don’t know. I don’t think you should be allowed to go to Burnley trying for nothing but 0-0. It has me questioning the nature of human existence. I was hoping to see Brady, Hendrick, Ward or McClean show something but no luck there either.”

Match report: Swansea City 0-4 Man Utd

Stuart James was at the Liberty Stadium earlier to see Swansea City get routed by Manchester United. Here’s how he saw it unfold ...

GOAL! Southampton 2-1 West Ham

A lifeline for West Ham: In what seems like an early contender for top billing on Match of the Day, the 10 men of West Ham have pulled a goal back against Southampton. Javier Hernandez scores.

Meanwhile at Villa Park: Andre Green has just scored Villa’s second against Norwich, whose fans can at least garner a giggle or two out of this tweet that’s been doing the rounds.

GOAL! Southampton 2-0 West Ham (Tadic 38pen)

Ipswich lead Brentford: Ipswich continue their excellent start to the season, with Martyn Waghorn putting them ahead against Brentford. Mick McCarthy’s are on course for their fifth consecutive win.

Red card! Marko Arnautovic is sent off!

Finally, a dismissal at Saint Mary’s: Marko Arnautovic clearly has his “Mad Marko” head on today and gets sent off for an idiotic elbow on Jack Stephens. West Ham are a goal and a man down, while Slaven Bilic can’t believe what he’s just seen.

Mark Noble dodges a red card: Referee Lee Mason seems to be in a very lenient mood at Saint Mary’s, where West Ham midfielder has avoided a card of any colour for an awful over-the-top tackle on Mario Lemina.

League Two latest: Accrington Stanley 1-1 Mansfield Town, Carlisle United 2-0 Cheltenham Town, Chesterfield 0-0 Port Vale, Coventry City 0-0 Newport County, Crawley Town 0-0 Cambridge United, Crewe Alexandra 0-0 Barnet, Exeter City 0-0 Lincoln, Forest Green 1-2 Yeovil, Luton Town 0-0 Colchester United, Morecambe 0-1 Swindon Town, Stevenage 0-0 Grimsby Town, Wycombe Wanderers 0-0 Notts County.

Derby County double their lead: David Nugent scores his second of the game to make it Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Derby County. Elsewhere: Preston 1-0 Reading, Nottingham Forest 1-0 Middlesbrough, Aston Villa 1-0 Norwich City. Conor Hourihane has given Villa the lead, to earn a small bit of respite for manager Steve Bruce after an atrocious start to the season.

More goals in League One: Oldham Athletic 0-2 Wigan Athletic, Shrewsbury Town 0-1 Rochdale, Southend United 1-0 Plymouth Argyle, Charlton 1-0 Northampton are the latest scores there in the matches where the deadlock has been broken.

Nottingham Forest’s bright start to the season continues: Having won two of their opening three Championship matches, Nottingham Forest now lead Middlesbrough in their fourth. Barrie McKay has opened the scoring in a match where Middlesbrough’s Britt Assombalonga, who left Forest this summer, is being booed every time he touches the ball.

A goal in Scotland: Aberdeen have taken an early lead against Dundee, with Stevie May opening the scoring.

GOAL! Southampton 1-0 West Ham (Gabbiadini 11)

Southampton score their first goal in seven matches at St Mary’s, with Manolo Gabbiadini scuffing one across the bows of Joe Hart and into the back of the net. They all count!

A goal in the Championship: Derby County are a goal to the good against Bolton Wanderers, with David Nugent doing the honours at the Macron Stadium.

A goal in League One: Charlton Athletic are first off the mark in League One, where Josh Magennis has put them one up against Northampton.

Angelo Ogbonna in for Winston Reid: As expected, West Ham’s Italian centre-half is in for Reid, who injured his ankle in the pre-match warm-up and had to be stretchered off.

GOAL! Leicester City 1-0 Brighton (Okazaki 1)

Crikey, that didn’t take long. Shinji Okazaki takes advantage of a blunder from Brighton goalkeeper Matthew Ryan to put Leicester City ahead at the King Power Stadium. The goalkeeper parried a shot from Riyad Mahrez and the Japanese striker was quickest to react. Poor goalkeeping from the Australian, who didn’t play too well against Manchester City last weekend either.

Not long now ...

Referees the length and breadth of the UK and beyond are moistening and pursing their lips in readiness to blow the first whistles of the day’s 3pm kick-offs. WHo will score first in the Premier League? My guess is Christian Benteke for Crystal Palace against Liverpool.

After last week’s success, my £5 Saturday acca is on Manchester United (already won), Liverpool, Southampton, Ipswich Town, Hull City and Wolves. Confidence levels out of 10? Just 3.

Updated

Meanwhile in Scotland ...

In the day’s early kick-off, Celtic have beaten Kimarnock 2-0 at Rugby Park, where James Forrest and Callum McGregor have chipped in with the goals for the reigning champions.

Bilic may need to ring another change

Winston Reid has injured himself in the warm-up at Saint Mary’s and it looks highly unlikely he’ll be lining up for West Ham. Presumably he’ll be replaced by Angelo Ogbonna.

League One result: Sheffield United 1-0 Barnsley

Billy Sharp’s goal after 17 minutes was the difference between the sides at Bramall Lane, where both teams finished with 10 men after Leon Clarke and Angus MacDonald were sent off fighting (half-heartedly sort of head-butting each other) just before half-time.

Slaven Bilic rings the changes too

West Ham’s Croatian manager has made four changes from the team that got slaughtered by Manchester United last Sunday. Arthur Masuaku, Angelo Ogbonna, Pedro Obiang and Edmilson Fernandez are all out. Aaron Cresswell and Declan Rice are among those in as replacements.

Wholesale changes for Liverpool ...

Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to the line-0up that beat Hoffenheim during the week. Ragnar Klavan, Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Joe Gomez and debutant Andrew Robertson are all in to face Crystal Palace. Trent ALexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, ALberto Moreno, Mohamed Salah and Emre Can all make way. On Sky Sports News, former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson has described it as “maybe taking liberties”.

Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer has made two changes of his own, following his side’s humiliation at the hands of Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the season. Out go the injured Wilfried Zaha and Jairo Riedewald. In come Andros Townsend and James Tomkins.

It's all over at the Liberty Stadium

Three quick-fire second half goals helped Manchester United to a 4-0 win over Paul Clement’s Swansea City, who have yet to score a goal after two matches in the current campaign.
