Leicester Tigers head coach's blunt response to Kevin Sinfield speculation

Leicester Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick refused to be drawn on speculation linking Kevin Sinfield with a move to the club.

Sinfield, Leeds Rhinos' director of rugby, has recently been the subject of rumours suggesting he is set to cross codes to join the Tigers' coaching staff.

A legendary captain at the Rhinos, Sinfield is heavily involved in recruitment at Headingley.

But it's believed Sinfield has been offered a contract to join Leicester's coaching staff in the future.

However, when asked about the rumours, Borthwich refused to answer as he simply said: "No comment."

But that has only further ignited talk that Sinfield could be set to leave.

He memorably made a cross-code move at the end of his rugby league career, playing for Yorkshire Carnegie after bringing an end to his career in the 13-man game as a treble winner.

Sinfield returned to the Rhinos in July 2018 to take on his current role and is approaching three years in the post.

During his playing career he played 521 times for Leeds, in which time he captained the club to seven Grand Final victories two Challenge Cups and three World Club Challenge successes.

However, his time at the club could be coming to an end in the near future.
