Leicester suffer triple injury blow ahead of Tottenham clash amid top four race with Chelsea

Chelsea's top-four rivals Leicester City will be without James Maddison, Ben Chilwell and Christian Fuchs for the remainder of the season, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

Leicester returned to winning ways on Thursday with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United, which saw them stay just a single point behind the Blues in the fight for a top-four finish.

The Foxes are currently above Manchester United, who they tackle on the final day, on goal difference but they have been handed a significant blow ahead of their final two games of the season.

James Maddison, who has missed the last four matches due to a hip injury, will remain sidelined for the remainder of the season, while left-back Ben Chilwell, who picked up an injury on July 4 against Crystal Palace, will also be unavailable for those two matches along with fellow defender Christian Fuchs.

The trio will, therefore, miss this weekend's clash with a Tottenham side who are seeking three wins in a row as they look to secure their spot in the Europa League next season.

"Ben [Chilwell] and James [Maddison] won't play for the rest of the season. We've got a few injuries which have been unfortunate for us," Rodgers said.

Chelsea also face a challenging end to the season, as they travel to Anfield next week to tackle Premier League champions Liverpool before hosting Wolves on the final day.
