Brendan Rodgers has suggested he is trying to imitate some trademark tactics of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool team when asked about Carlo Ancelotti's comments around Leicester's style of attacking play.
Everton will travel to the King Power in a clash that sees two of the league's top scorers go head to head in Jamie Vardy and Dominc Calvert-Lewin with many hoping each side can put on an impressive attacking display.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has already spoken about the 2016 title winners threat when going forward, in particular on the break.
He told evertonfc.com: “We need to defend well, be focused there, and not let them have the possibility to play on the counter-attack.
“It is really difficult [to play against Leicester].
“They have players with quality, fast players, a fantastic striker in Vardy who is used to scoring in every game.
“Their best quality is their style of attack, it is really efficient."
However, when asked about Ancelotti's summary of his team's counter attacking style, Rodgers was keen to put across he has more than one trick up his sleeve.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, he mentioned Liverpool as an example of what else he is trying to add to his way of playing.
He said: “I hope we have a little bit of everything. What we have shown this season which is fantastic from a coaching perspective, we have won games in different ways. We’ve won on the counter, we’ve won in a mid-block.
"If you look at Liverpool, they will press, they will sit, they will break out. A really good side has balance, they can play in the different phases. If you watch us over the season, we can break out with speed, but also play when the game is tight.”
Everton come into the mid-week fixture following an impressive 1-0 win over Chelsea at Goodison Park.
And despite a number of injury concerns, mainly in defence, Rodgers believes Everton are starting to find their real strengths again.
He said: “They have a fantastic team of players. They started very well and then had injuries that knocked their consistency but they arrive into this game on the back of their best result of the season.
"They were very strong against Chelsea. It is so tight. There are lots of games, the gaps between games aren’t so big. You just have to get on with that.”
