Leicester fans criticise former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers as club exit FA Cup

Leicester City fans have criticised Brendan Rodgers following their side's FA Cup exit, and some Celtic supporters have enjoyed a bit of schadenfreude.

Rodgers' side lost 1-0 to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, having drawn their previous two games since English football's restart.

While the former Celtic Park boss still enjoys the backing of most Foxes fans, many were vocal in their disappointment.

Leicester shared a video of Rodgers saying his team's performance "will give us big confidence", but that didn't wash with some fans.

"It didn’t give us fans any confidence Brendan; quite the opposite" said @Avid_Fox, adding: "I feel confident we are likely to slide out the running for everything we were in the running for as we look so toothless and devoid of any creativity or ideas."

"For goodness sake Brendan get mad, shout or at the very least raise your voice. Sometimes that’s what players need to fire themselves up during a game. Asking nicely ain’t working" tweeted @superchick60.

"Apart from the first 20 minutes I think Rodgers watched a different game to me" suggested @Dippydaz1977.

@Jakebroadwell2, meanwhile, took issue with Rodgers' tactics, saying: "If you want to win games Rodgers then play two up front...OBVIOUSLY the formation you LOVE so much isn't working."

@JagerMouse was clearly unimpressed, saying: "Brendan Rodgers out there serving up muck that Claude Puel would be embarrassed by. Don't think we'd score if we were the only team on the pitch, but he'd still come out and say we were working hard and looking fit. Properly backwards."

The majority of Leicester supporters, however, remain behind Rodgers. If the comments below are any indication, he can't count on quite the same level of support from Celtic fans.

"Remember when Brendan Rodgers traded glory for money?" - @CelticF1rst

"One-trick pony. Good riddance to him" - @wannabeedouard1

"You were warned lads" - @12_wallace_03

"No, you cannot have Neil Lennon" - @ronanhammond_

The words 'love', 'see' and 'it" all featured prominently.

The most damning indictment, however, came from Arsenal fan @stephpgold, who said: "Brendan Rodgers always has really dry lips. The man needs some lip balm."
