Leicester City vs Newcastle United: Lee Ryder's Premier League preview

A repeat of last season would do just fine for Newcastle United on Friday night, but they head to the King Power Stadium to face a Leicester side in superb form.

Brendan Rodgers has guided City to four successive wins in the Premier League after upsetting Celtic fans to join the 2016 Premier League champions.

A 2-1 win for United had fans and players celebrating survival in unison last season but Rafa Benitez's players are spluttering of late.

Lee Ryder's prediction

United have been handed odds of 17/4 by the bookies and it's no surprise given the run Leicester and Jamie Vardy are currently on.

Newcastle's season has taken a strange twist since the international break.

At Arsenal they struggled to get the ball to Salomon Rondon and lost 2-0 but against Crystal Palace, the striker couldn't complain about the service.

Unfortunately, he couldn't take the chances presented to him on the day and Newcastle slipped to another defeat.

Leicester are pushing for Europe so this couldn't be a worse time to play them, sadly this could be a third successive defeat for Newcastle.
