Leicester City vs Arsenal: Prediction, TV channel, team news, lineups, h2h results, live stream, odds today

Arsenal will hope to keep confidence high after their thrilling win over Benfica as they face a tough trip to Leicester this afternoon.

The Gunners endured a roller coaster of emotions in Thursday’s Europa League last-32 second-leg tie in Athens, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s second goal three minutes from time eventually securing a 4-3 aggregate victory and teeing up a chance for revenge against Greek giants Olympiacos.

In contrast, Leicester were extremely lacklustre in their second leg against Slavia Prague and a 2-0 loss at the King Power Stadium marked the end of this season’s European campaign.

However, the Foxes are faring much better than the Gunners in the Premier League, with eight places and 15 points separating Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying team - who are also through to the FA Cup quarter-finals - in third with Mikel Arteta’s inconsistent 11th-placed side.

Leicester have claimed back-to-back victories from difficult meetings with Liverpool and Aston Villa, while Arsenal have won just one of their last five top-flight matches, losing three.

Leicester vs Arsenal team news

Rodgers said on Friday that he has the same squad of players available again this weekend, meaning that star midfielder James Maddison (hip) is still sidelined.

Ayoze Perez (knee) also remains out, as do Dennis Praet (thigh), Wes Morgan (back) and long-term absentee James Justin (knee). Wesley Fofana is expected to return to training next week following a hamstring strain.

Arteta could choose to rotate his Arsenal side after a hectic contest against Benfica, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and potentially even skipper Aubameyang - all ever-presents of late - due a rest amid the relentless fixture schedule.

Rob Holding should be fit after a head injury sustained in the 1-0 home defeat by dominant leaders Manchester City last weekend, while Hector Bellerin could make way for Cedric Soares at right-back.

Thomas Partey will be pushing to make only his 10th League start of the season in midfield after coming off the bench against Benfica following hamstring trouble.

Arsenal squad from: Leno, Runarsson, Ryan; Bellerin, Cedric, Chambers, Gabriel, Holding, Luiz, Mari, Tierney; Ceballos, Elneny, Odegaard, Partey, Saka, Smith Rowe, Xhaka; Aubameyang, Balogun, Lacazette, Martinelli, Nelson, Nketiah, Pepe and Willian.

Lineups

Leicester City: Schmeichel; Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Castagne; Albrighton, Tielemans, Ndidi, Mendy, Barnes; Vardy

Arsenal: Leno; Cedric, Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Pepe, Smith Rowe, Martinelli; Lacazette.

Leicester vs Arsenal prediction - 2-2 draw

Despite almost blowing the tie in horrendous fashion, Arsenal should nevertheless have seen morale hugely boosted by Thursday’s dramatic finale in Athens that effectively saved their season.

A midday away trip to the King Power isn’t ideal straight off the back of that taxing affair, but Leicester notably lacked energy in their listless loss to Slavia Prague.

We fancy the Gunners to get a decent point on the road.
