Leicester City, Sheffield United, Coventry: The four games Forest could have to look forward to next season

Nottingham Forest's target is simple for the remainder of the season: Premier League promotion.

The Reds have done brilliantly so far under boss Sabri Lamouchi to upset the odds and remain one of the front-runners for promotion.

But should they secure top-flight football or not next term, there could see some new derbies to look forward to on the calendar for away day lovers to sing their teeth into...

Coventry City

It's been a while since Forest have locked horns with Coventry City.

For the best part of three decades the two sides shared regular meetings in the old first division, Premier League and Championship after that.

It has now been eight years since Gareth McCleary scored a stunning solo goal that moved the Sky Blues one step closer to their eventual relegation to League One in the pair's last meeting.

But now Coventry could be on their way back to the Championship and are currently places second in the third division.

The location for this potential away day does remain up in the air though with Mark Robins' side currently embroiled in a stadium row that has seen them playing "home games" away at Birmingham's St. Andrews.

Should Lamouchi lead his Red men to promotion, the short trip down the M1 to Leicester would be a much anticipated afternoon out.

Leicester will almost certainly be a Champions League club next season after their remarkable campaign under Brendan Rodgers.

The two sides have not met since the Foxes were crowned Premier League champions, with the last clash between the pair being a 2-2 draw at the City Ground in 2014.

Sheffield United

Forest have shared plenty of trips to take on United of the Steel City in the past, but not in the Premier League since 1993.

And that is what it would take for the pair to meet again in the league next term, with Chris Wilder's side currently in fifth.

Remarkably, the Reds have not tasted victory at Bramall Lane since 2004.

Like Coventry, Peterborough United are one of the front-runners for promotion to the Championship this term.

Just a short trip down the A1 separates the City Ground from United's London Road stadium.

The two sides have met just 14 times in the past, with Forest winning nine of those meetings.

Posh have not beaten the Reds since 2011.
