Leicester City renews partnership with one of the biggest Premier League sponsors

Leicester City have renewed their partnership with one of the biggest sponsors in the Premier League.

City, who made history with a 5-2 defeat over Man City on Sunday, have continued the deal with global online investment platform, stock broker and cryptocurrency trader eToro.

The platform has more than 14 million registered users around the world, with investors able to hold commodities, stocks and crypto-assets such as Bitcoin.

It was initially named an official LCFC partner at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

The agreement includes in-game on the pitch-facing LED boards at the King Power Stadium, as well on the big screens and interview backdrops.

Additionally, the brand also gets to enjoy various digital rights on the club’s website and social media channels, and the opportunity to work with LCFC’s legends.

Harj Hir, head of partnerships at Leicester City, said: “We have a really good working relationship with eToro and are pleased to be able to extend our partnership with them for the upcoming 2020/21 season.

“eToro are an innovative industry leader and a significant brand, and we’re excited to continue our work with them in helping educate fans on investing.”

Dylan Holman, global sponsorship manager at eToro, said: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with Leicester City for a third year, showing our commitment to the Club.

“The Club is going from strength to strength and we look forward to developing activations which bring added value to fans.”

Last week plans to allow limited-capacity crowds at stadiums up and down the country from October were paused amid a rising coronavirus infection rate.

Cabinet Minister Michael Gove said “It’s in the nature of major sporting events that there’s a lot of mingling,” he said.

“People look back at the beginning of the pandemic and look at some of the major sporting events asking the question of why they were allowed to go ahead.

“One of the things we must do now, whatever the wisdom of the decisions made then, is to look at sporting events now with caution.”
