Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers drops Liverpool team news hint ahead of Brighton match

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed a number of the club’s Under-23 players will start against Brighton in the FA Cup tonight.

Rodgers has opened up on how he plans to rotate for the game at the King Power ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Liverpool.

After a fine first season in charge of the Foxes, the former Reds boss is once again working his magic.

The Foxes currently sit third in the table, two points behind Manchester United, and seven behind leaders City, albeit having played a game more than Guardiola's side.

In terms of form, Leicester, have been beaten by Leeds United at the end of January, have bounced back to beat Fulham and draw with Wolves in their last two games.

Jamie Vardy is also expected to step up his return to fitness tonight, having come off the bench for the final 30 minutes of the goalless draw at Molineux on Sunday.

“(Vardy) hasn’t lost too much fitness. That’s the reality. It’s only been a couple of weeks, and he’s got a great level of fitness,” the Northern Irishman told Leicester Live when asked for a squad update.

“We gave him half-hour and you could see the dynamism he brings to the team. We’ll definitely get him some minutes on Wednesday, whether that’s in the first period of the game or the second. He’ll feature at some point.

“We’ll have a strong 11. We’ll make changes, there’s no doubt about that. We have to consider the month of games and the early kick-off at the weekend (against Liverpool ). It will still be a strong squad.

“I’m also going to take the opportunity to look at one or two of our talented young players that have been working with us.

“We have a group of young players who have been training with us. And like what I’ve always tried to do, when I feel it’s the right moment for them to go in, I’ll give them the opportunity. With young players, you never know until you put them in.

“We want to get to the quarter-finals.”

Before the Celtic boss continued on his side’s upcoming games: “From a scientific perspective, you can’t use the same players every single game.

“As much as you would want to play some players in certain games, you can’t because of the close proximity of other games.

“You want energy and enthusiasm and freshness going into every game, hence why you have to make changes.”
