Leicester have reached an agreement to sign Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra, while Swansea have confirmed that Tammy Abraham has joined them on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old Spaniard is now expected to meet Leicester officials to discuss a contract and undergo a medical. Reports have suggested Iborra, who played against the Foxes in the Champions League last season, will cost the English club around £12m.

Iborra, who can also operate as a forward, has scored 30 goals in 172 games since joining Sevilla from Levante four years ago. He has won the Europa League three times and he captained the side last season. He has previously been linked with Sunderland and West Ham.

A statement from Sevilla read: “Sevilla FC and Leicester City FC have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Vicente Iborra.”

Once a deal is concluded, Iborra will be allowed to return to Sevilla to bid a public farewell to fans. Leicester have not yet commented on the development, although his arrival could now see Nampalys Mendy complete his move to Bordeaux.

Meanwhile, Abraham has completed his move to Swansea after signing a new five-year contract with Chelsea. The England Under-21 striker had options to join Newcastle and Brighton but opted instead to link up with his former youth team coach Paul Clement.

Swansea are also expected to complete a deal to sign Roque Mesa from Las Palmas for around £11m in the coming days. “There is already agreement for the transfer of Roque to Swansea City and tomorrow (it) can be made official,” said Las Palmas sporting director Tony Cruz.

Las Palmas star Mesa is known to Clement following the former Real Madrid assistant coach’s time at the Bernabéu working alongside Carlo Ancelotti. The 28-year-old’s pass-completion rate of 91.4% was ranked as the fourth highest in La Liga last season.

But one player seemingly heading for the exit door at the Liberty Stadium is record signing Borja Baston, who is in talks to join Malaga on a season-long loan deal.

Huddersfield have announced the signing of Tom Ince from Derby for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £8.5m.

“Everybody in England knows that Tom has high-quality; he has been one of the best players in the Sky Bet Championship for many years now,” said manager David Wagner. “I have spoken to Tom and he has a massive desire to come to Huddersfield Town and play in the Premier League. He has had a taste of the division for two short spells and he is desperate to show everyone that he belongs in the top division. I think he can be a big player for us.”

Huddersfield have also re-signed the Chelsea winger Kasey Palmer on season’s loan after he spent the 2016-17 campaign there. The 20-year-old has just agreed a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder Jérémie Boga will be another to leave Chelsea on loan.
