Legoland Windsor opening date announced with big changes to rides and attractions

Legoland Windsor has announced plans to reopen on July 4.

Guests will be asked to bring their own face covering or masks and will have their temperature checked on arrival.

The park has said that riders on rollercoasters will be spread out to keep in line with social distancing and all tickets will need to be pre-booked.

Guests displaying a high temperature or a fever will not be allowed in the resort or hotels.

Hygiene screens will be put up at service counters and character meets and greets will be carried out with social distancing measures in place.

The park says tasks such as checking for height and security searches will be modified.

Staff will be wearing PPE including face masks, disposable gloves and eye protection for some tasks.

And 'enhanced cleaning' will take place across the resort whilst hygiene stations will be stationed around the park with sanitiser.

Karen Glassey, operations director of Legoland Windsor, said: "We can’t wait to welcome you back and we wanted to start to tell you about the new hygiene and safety measures that we have been working on since we closed in March.

"As you’d expect, a day out or overnight stay at Legoland Windsor will feel a little different to before but everything we are introducing is with your safety, and our teams safety, as our top priority."

Glassey continued: “You’ll be used to a lot of the new measures, such as social distancing in queues and being encouraged to use cards rather than cash, as these have become the new normal when visiting supermarkets and other shops.

“But in preparation for reopening we have reviewed how we operate every single part of the park and hotels to make sure that you have a brilliant, safe visit.

"Some things to expect include a pre-book ticket system to manage visitor numbers and different seating arrangements on rides.”
