Legoland re-opens for December with fun-filled Christmas events for families

Legoland Windsor is re-opening for December and it's pulling out all the stops for the festive season!

The theme park will open its doors from December 4 (Friday) with all of its usual rides and attractions, as well as special appearances from Father Christmas and his elves, not to mention heaps of brilliant decorations ranging from giant LEGO models of Santa to a dragon-shaped Christmas tree made from 150,000 LEGO bricks.

There will be plenty of fun events too including carol singing, festive shows and even a pantomime (we've got the full details below).

Day tickets start from £39 when booked on the Legoland website - and tickets booked for a visit before the 23rd December will receive a free ticket for a 2021 visit too! (Kids under 90cm go free at the theme park).

So, what exactly is on offer for the festive season?

Well for a start there's the Holiday Harbour Lights Show which promises 15 minutes of music, dancing and an appearance from Father Christmas himself.

Those who can't get enough of Christmas tunes may also want to check out the special carol singing sessions with LEGO Friends, who will be singing along to the likes of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Oh, and no need to miss out on panto season, thanks to the ' Oh Yes It Is ' performance at DUPLO Valley Theatre. (This is a socially distanced event so seats will be subject to availability).

Windsor and Maidenhead will be in Tier 2 meaning that the theme park is able to re-open. It also means that overnight stays are allowed - so there are short breaks at the resort to be found from £79 per person. All guests who stay before Christmas will also receive a personalised letter and LEGO gift from Santa.

However, make sure to check which tier your own area is in - if you're in Tier 3 you won't be able to travel. (Meanwhile, overnight stays in Tier 2 are limited to yourself and your household only).

We've got a fuller guide to the rules on overnight stays depending on what tier you're in.

Karen Glassey, Operations Director at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: "This year we’re pulling out all the stops to make Christmas extra special for families.

"We’ve been working closely with Father Christmas and his elves and they are looking forward to spreading some festive cheer and saying hello to guests from a safe distance on their new sleigh.

"Everyone’s health and safety remains our top priority as we prepare to reopen for Christmas and we ask all guests to visit our website before they visit so that they know what to expect and to play their part by observing Government advice and our own measures at all times."
