Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester announces reopening date

Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester is opening its doors again this week with 'a new way to play'.

Families will have to pre-book a two-hour play session at the Trafford Centre attraction and each child will be given their own bricks to play with once inside.

It's just one of the new safety measures being introduced amid the ongoing pandemic, which has left venues like this closed since March.

Many of the activities will be open as usual, including Miniland, the Lego 4D cinema and the two rides - Kingdom Quest and Merlin's apprentice - where guests will be separated by empty rows and seats.

Sessions will run twice a day - 10am to noon and then 1.30pm to 3.30pm, but capacity has been reduced and entry times are staggered, from 9.30am and from 1pm, to help keep visitors apart.

Bosses say enhanced cleaning will be in place between sessions, signs have been installed to aid social distancing and staff will monitor queues to ensure visitors are sticking to the rules.

Seating in the cafe areas has also been changed to provide more space between seats.

The attraction is holding a special opening day on Friday for Legoland and Merlin annual pass holders before opening to the general public from Saturday, July 18.

Tickets, costing £13.50 for children or £16.65 for adults, must be pre-booked online. Under threes go free but still require a ticket.
